a little about us

"The business of who you know"

The idea for Berkshire Production Arts Collective was born in 2022 out of our desire to bridge the gap between local venues and the many talented technicians in the area. Having worked in the Berkshires at many different spaces and in many different roles - as a carpenter, lighting designer/programmer, sound designer/programmer, technical director, performer, and more - we have seen firsthand that there are never enough people, nor enough jobs to keep local production artists employed.

How  can these two problems exist at the same time?

When one doesn't know who to call! Our goal  at BPAC is to come together as a team of local artists that bring their varying talents and areas of expertise and form a Collective - keeping ourselves employed and filling the needs of the local producing venues without their having to fly in and house as many seasonal technical staff from out of town.

We care about the future of technical theatre artists.

With theatres shutting their doors throughout the country for the last few years, there's a gap in opportunity for students to get the vital "hands on" experience that they may be relying on to enter the workforce. We believe that free internships should a thing of the past - at BPAC, we'd rather pay someone to learn with us. With our experience as education artists, we plan to grow an educational arm of BPAC, providing opportunities for local artists to learn on-the-job skills without having to leave the county. This would also ensure we're teaming up with production artists that are trained to our very high standards - leaving our clients satisfied and eager to call BPAC for their next production.
